Tory Burch

   Tory Burch eyewear is comprised of both eyeglasses and sunglasses for men and women. The eyewear comes in a plethora of styles, such as butterfly, cat-eye, oval, rectangle, round, and square. Further customization options include lense-type and color. Prescription lenses are available.

   Tory Burch started her fashion career at the lowest rung on the ladder to success. Upon graduating college and moving to New York City, she took various jobs as an assistant to Zoran, a Yugoslavian designer, and Harper’s Bazaar magazine. From there, she took on various PR and advertising jobs at Vera Wang (primarily a bridal boutique that has expanded to include house-ware, shoes, jewelry, fragrances, and eyewear), Polo Ralph Lauren, and Loewe. In 2004, Burch launched her lifestyle brand under the “Tory by TRB” label and opened a flagship boutique in New York City. By that fall, her brand was featured in Vogue magazine. The brand soon became successful and profitable, earning her the Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award for best new retail concept. She received celebrity endorsement from Oprah on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2005, which led to a lot of mainstream exposure as evidenced by the 8 million hits on her website the day after the show. That fall, she decided to change the name of her label for the upcoming Spring 2006 fashion season to Tory Burch. 

   Soon thereafter, she launched a line of swimwear and shoes. The shoe collection in particular contained the popular and best-selling Reva ballerina flat, named after Burch’s mother. In May 2006, she began the international distribution of her brand at Harvey Nichols, an English department store chain that sells fashion collections. Her brand thus gained exposure in London and additionally, Dubai. 2007 saw the launch of her line of bags and accessories, which nets her the Accessories Council of Excellence Award. Her excellent work got further noticed the next year, in 2008 with the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Accessory Designer of the Year Award. She also managed to get a Designer of the Year Award from the Fashion Footwear Association of New York. 

   By 2010, her brand had 25 boutiques and 450 retail stores worldwide to distribute and sell its products in. 2011 was an important year for Burch, as she opened her largest flagship yet at a townhouse on Madison Avenue. She also managed to secure a beauty-and-fragrance deal with Estée Lauder, one of the top leaders in the market. Burch became a recognized billionaire by Forbes magazine when her ex-husband sold half of his stake in her company after she countersued him, alleging that he used inside business information to start a knockoff brand. In 2013, Burch signed a licensing deal with Fossil to start producing and distributing watches. Recently, Vogue featured her first fragrance and makeup products in the magazine.
